Homework
Homework is compulsory for all pupils, but naturally will vary in quantity and content according to the course being followed. Pupils taking external examinations should be expected to do 2 or 3 hours work per evening. Homework timetables for each year group are drawn up at the start of the year by Mr Mark Rowland (Deputy Headteacher), having consulted Heads of Department.
At the end of each term students are nominated for Departmental and Year Certificates which are presented at End of Term Award Assemblies.

School Awards System
Celebrating and rewarding achievement throughout the school is very important. There are a range of rewards which are used within the school, including Vivo Miles, good news postcards, departmental certificates and reward trips.
Vivo Miles
- Students can log on to their personal webpage and views their Vivo Miles total (each Vivo Mile = 1 pence)
- Students are then able to purchase an item from a range of the following: watches; sports and leisure; health and beauty; gifts and hobbies; computer and stationery; mobile phone top-ups and vouchers; home entertainment; games.
- Pupils can also give their Vivo Miles to charity.
- The item is then delivered to the school and given to the student.
Teachers award commendations to pupils who show positive achievements, high attainment in relation to ability, effort and or improvement. They can be awarded for subject attainment and effort, pastoral and extra-curricular activities.
A booklet is produced and display mounted informing pupils of the prizes available.
