Duke of Edinburgh Expedition
In June 2011, the Duke of Edinburgh Club took their practice bronze expedition.
Students had dedicated a number of hours to after school training and learned valuable skills such as map reading and navigation, cooking with the use of camping stoves, team building and camping skills.
The expedition itself was a great success. Students planned their own routes to the campsite and trekked through the countryside. Students battled their way through nettles, thorns, woods and fields. They showed courage, teamwork, problem solving skills and dedication and they certainly proved that they are up to the Bronze Award Level.
The Duke of Edinburgh Club are now hard at work, fund raising for their next journey. Well done to all involved!
