Year 11 - Creative and Media Group
This term saw the Year 11 group successfully put on a poetry festival. This was part of the Unit 5 where students had to plan and run a festival.
The evening had a host of entertainment which included an open mic stall, where student presented their best poetry rhymes. The best students were given Vivo Miles and books donated by Miss Elliott (Library LRC Manager).
The students worked extremely hard, creating displays of poets from the Anthology and making cupcakes to sell.
The evening was a great success and it had a good turn out from students of all years.
Year 11 BTEC First
This term the BTEC group have been exploring different types of factual documentaries. This has given the students the skills to create their own documentary which focuses on the issues affecting young people within the local area.
The students have had tutorials on the professional skills in video production and have had the opportunity to work with a media professional, Miss Collings. The final products will be available to view in the Media Department.
Year 12 BTEC National
This term the BTEC National group have learnt a wide range of single camera techniques. They have been working particularly hard writing, planning and creating a three minute drama. Screenings will be held in the Media Department this term.
The Media Club
We have now launched the Media Club for all year groups. It is an opportunity for students to learn production skills in video, audio and print.Media club takes place every Wednesday in NF3 from 3:15- 4:30 pm.
