John Shaughnessy RIP

The school recently learned of the sad news of the passing of John Shaughnessy, Former Headmaster.  John  was Headmaster of the Lower School from 1967 for 11 years.   After that he was First Deputy of the Secondary School until 1987 when he retired.

He died peacefully, aged 94, on 28 October 2016, at the Royal London Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

His funeral will take place on Friday 11, November 2016.  The mass will take place at 11.30 am at Saint Monica’s Church, 1 Stonard Rd, Palmers Green N13 4DJ, followed by a reception in the church hall.  Former students and staff of the school who knew John are invited to attend the funeral.

John's family are asking friends and family not to give flowers but to make donations to the wonderful ward at the Royal London Hospital that looked after John so well for the last 2 1/2 weeks of his life.  There will be a collection at the church, and a Just Giving page, to make sure that all proceeds go to Ward 14E (Barts Charity SPF 5076) which specialises in care for older people (many of whom have no one to care for them).
