St Thomas More achieved outstandingly at the London Youth Games for Athletics and Rugby this week. We also congratulate Year 7 Osee Ofono, winner of the London Central Judo Competition!
Last week the Under 15 girls’ rugby team competed in the London Youth Games representing Haringey. The tournament consisted of fantastic teams from across London and showcased fantastic rugby. They performed with skill and determination and missed out on the top pool by just one try in a very close game. The girls are now set to join a new League to compete against schools outside of Haringey and also have an upcoming away game in against the Royal Latin School. Good luck girls!
Athletics: London Youth Games Ultimate Final
After doing extremely well in the regional competition, St Thomas More had high expectations for the London Youth Games’ grand final. Our domination of our borough meant that all four of our teams were representing Haringey. The Year 8 girls displayed a fantastic performance to take home silver medals, while the Year 7 boys also excelled, taking home the bronze. The most memorable performance was the 4x2 relay, where the boys finished comfortably in first position. The Year 8 boys just missed out on a medal, finishing in fifth place, and the Year 7 girls finished seventh. These are exceptional results given that they are out of the 33 boroughs in London!
Osee Ofono: Judo Champion
Osee, in Year 7, represented St Thomas More in the London Central Judo competition and finished in first position. Well done Osee!
