St Thomas More Catholic School is an Outstanding, mixed, independent Academy within the Cardinal Hume Academies Trust. We are a Catholic school but welcome applications from those of other faiths or no faith who share our ethos and values. With a capacity of 1200 students, including Sixth Form, we are large enough to be able to offer a diverse curriculum whilst maintaining a focus of the progress of the individual. Last year’s GCSE results once again showed valued added which will be reflected in a positive Progress 8 score; testimony to the hard work and commitment of both students and staff. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and have strong faculties that encourage our students to develop their sporting, musical and creative skills. We are a school at the heart of the community and we let out our facilities.
Our Sixth Form goes from strength-to-strength with progress being rated "well above average". We have been commended by the Department for Education on several occasions for our excellent performance in public examinations and we are hold designated Teaching School status, providing support to other institutions. Our Progress 8 score in 2017 putting us in the top 100 non-selective state funded schools in England based on the Key Stage 2 – Key Stage 4 value added measure. We are very proud of the success of our motivated students and dedicated staff.
