Why is Music important?
Music has many benefits for young people. Nearly everyone enjoys music whether by listening to it, creating it or performing it. Studying music will help you develop skills that you can apply in other subjects. Some of these skills include memorisation, reasoning and creativity. Learning to play different instruments also builds skills like coordination and flexibility. By studying music from different cultures you will be able to come to understand and appreciate traditions of other societies. Also, music will allow you to express yourself in unique ways. You will also learn how to work in a team and how to critically evaluate and improve your own work.
