To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush, Collage Arts arranged an intergenerational project that resulted in the creation of four illustrated children's books that have been shared with Haringey's primary schools.
The stories were created based on the interviews that some of our pupils carried out with their families about their journeys, and first experiences of Britain.
This week we were invited to the launch of the stories at Collage Arts, where the pupils got to meet the illustrators and hear the authors read final versions. Neaveh Russell, 10MC2, and Talulah Phillips-Paul, 9KL1 were delighted to see the stories inspired by their Grandmothers' experiences in print.
