U.S. Ambassador Visits St Thomas More

St Thomas More Catholic School was delighted to receive the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Matthew Barzun on Monday, 22 February 2016.

The Ambassador held a workshop with the Sixth Form in which they discussed and debated a wide variety of current affairs topics. Students had the opportunity too, to comment on what confused them about America - guns, universities, Donald Trump - as well as what inspires them - food, movies, and the great outdoors.

Discussion was lively and positive and the Ambassador commented that the students were a "great bunch" and a "very smart group who are a credit to the school". Meanwhile, student David Anosike, who holds an offer to read Economic History at the London School of Economics, remarked that he too would like to speak at the school, when he is an Ambassador!

After his visit, the Ambassador tweeted about the positive time he spent at the school and shared a photo of himself with pupils and the school’s portrait of St Thomas More.
