Success for St Thomas More sports teams

Year 7 football

The Year 7 boys’ team dropped point for the first time this season against Gladesmore school. Two goals from Mardochee and Kaleve meant the game finished 2-2. St Thomas More’s Year 7 football team still remain top of the football league.

London Youth Games- U15 Volleyball

The U15 volleyball team made a trip to UEL this term to represent Haringey in the London Youth Games. St Thomas More comfortably won their borough competition this year and were willing to challenge themselves against the top schools in the capital. The First 3 games started well as the boys beat Islington, Barnet and Hillingdon. After progressing to the quarter-final, St Thomas More came up against Richmond and lost by 5 points. The team finished 9th in London.

Year 7 Basketball- Jr NBA League

Another comfortable victory against Riverside ensured St Thomas More will cruise into the play offs. The Year 7 boys' team were ranked number 1 in London for the next round after their 29-6 victory. A further 20-0 victory against Evelyn Grace from Brixton cemented their progression into the semi-final this week.

Year 8 Football

The Year 8 boys competed in the Haringey 7-a-side football tournament this term and took home the bronze medal. Congratulations to the pupils who participated.

Tottenham Foundation Football Programme 

St Thomas More School have commenced a football programme with Tottenham Foundation this term. Boys from Years 7-11 have allocated time slots on a Monday and Friday from 3:30 where they are trained by Tottenham Foundation football coaches. They are able to develop their skills and ability whilst working in a team. If any pupils are interested in participating, they need to see Mr Ameh for a letter of consent.
