This week saw sporting triumph in basketball and football.
Basketball - Year 9
The Year 9 boys' basketball team played two Haringey League fixtures this week and came out victorious on both occasions. The temerity of the boys was extremely high as they are yet to lose a match. They beat Heartlands 62-5 on Monday evening and vanquished Alexandra Park School 76-12 on Thursday. The team are currently at the top of the table with maximum points.
Basketball - Year 7
The Year 7 boys' basketball team played their first game against Woodside on Tuesday evening. St Thomas More looked threatening on the break as Jayzye and Darren drove towards the basket on several occasions. Henry and Ibuchie made a number of free throws on the evening to ensure the team secured a vast number of points. The final score was 25-14 to St Thomas More School.
Sixth Form Football
The Sixth Form football team played against Bishop Douglas and secured a 4-2 win against their sister school. The goals on the day came from Peter, Able and Jeremiah, who scored 2.
Year 8 Rugby - National Rugby
After winning the Regional competition, the Year 8 boys' rugby team qualified for the National Cup along with 8 other schools from around the country. On Monday afternoon the squad took a trip to Colchester to play their first group fixture. Unfortunately, the boys lost to the opposing school 6 tries to 2. The team have also been awarded against the points against the East London Science school, as they were unable to play the fixture before the deadline.
